NAHA School library in Honiara was boosted with a timely donation of 11 crates of reading books by the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) and the International Relief Friendship Foundation (IRFF) last Thursday. The books worth thousands of dollars were received by school principal Neven Onorio and witnessed by both primary and secondary school students. Mr Onorio said he was pleased with the donation, adding that this was the second time the school had receive books from the organisation. He said the books will certainly help the school library and give the students wider access to books. “These books will go a long way towards assisting the library and the children attending Naha school,” Mr Onorio said. The school has 364 primary and 150 secondary students, with just more than 20 staff. The WFWP has so far assisted Visale and Tuvaruhu primary schools with similar kind of donations. President of the group Alice Houaniau said they were grateful to assist schools on the outskirts of Honiara.
